Uganda Charity Hub is a funding and capacity-building initiative designed to support local NGOs working at the intersection of environmental conservation and poverty eradication in indigenous communities and among women in Uganda. By channeling resources directly to grassroots organizations, we will create sustainable pathways out of poverty while protecting Uganda's rich natural heritage.

To catalyze poverty eradication in Uganda by funding and strengthening local NGOs that integrate environmental conservation with social empowerment programs in indigenous communities and among women, creating sustainable livelihoods that protect both people and planet.
How We Achieve It:

Our Vision: A Uganda where indigenous communities and women thrive in harmony with their environment, free from poverty, empowered as stewards of their natural resources and architects of their own prosperity.
The Intersecting Crisis:
Uganda faces a devastating cycle where environmental degradation and poverty reinforce each other, particularly affecting the most marginalized:
Environmental Collapse: 2.6% annual deforestation rate; rapid wetland loss threatening water security and livelihoods
Concentrated Poverty: 35-40% poverty rates in rural indigenous communities (Batwa, Ik, Benet peoples) vs. 21.4% nationally
Gender Inequality: Women are 51% of the population but own only 16% of registered land, limiting economic opportunity
Systemic Marginalization: Indigenous communities displaced from ancestral lands through conservation projects without compensation or alternative livelihoods
Funding Gap: Local NGOs with deep community trust and proven solutions lack adequate funding to scale their impact
The Result: Communities are forced to choose between environmental destruction for survival or deepening poverty, while effective grassroots solutions remain underfunded and isolated.

What We Fund:
Sustainable Agriculture & Food Security - Climate-smart farming, agroforestry, seed banking
Community Natural Resource Management - Community forestry, wetland restoration, watershed protection
Green Livelihoods - Women-led eco-enterprises: beekeeping, eco-tourism, renewable energy, sustainable crafts
Indigenous Rights & Cultural Preservation - Land tenure security, traditional knowledge documentation
Women's Economic Empowerment - Savings groups, market access, value-addition skills
How It Works:
Grant-Making (60% budget): $10,000-$50,000 grants to 12-15 local NGOs annually
Capacity Building (20%): Training, mentorship, technical assistance for organizational sustainability
Knowledge & Advocacy (10%): Documentation, policy influence, peer learning networks
Operations (10%): Lean management ensuring maximum resources reach communities
