Overview

Tech and Sun is an initiative aimed at improving infrastructure in the Global South by deploying solar-powered charge stations. By integrating blockchain technology for transparent management and certifying local operators, TAS not only provides sustainable energy access but also creates jobs and economic opportunities, with plans to scale across multiple locations by 2025.

Project Goals

1. Sustainable Energy Access:
   • Deploy solar-powered charge stations to provide communities with a reliable source of electricity.
   • Ensure consistent access to power.
   • Boosts daily productivity.
2. Job Creation:
   • Train and certify local operators to manage the charge stations.
   • Create work opportunities across the four phases of our initiative.
3. Infrastructure Expansion:
   • Scale the initiative to additional locations, with the goal of expanding significantly by Q3 2025.
4. On-Chain Certification:
   • Certify operators and verify project execution on-chain, transparently and securely.

Current Progress

• Prototype Development(Rural Emerging Market):
  • TAS is currently operating our prototype station out of Owerri Nigeria.
  • Due to our promotional community engagement campaign, we have generated a significant amount of usage from the station at its minimum operational state. The usage data can be found here.

  • TAS is currently conducting a feasibility analysis to provide electricity to urban businesses and schools in emerging markets.

TAS (Technology and Sun) is an initiative focused on harnessing the power of technology and solar energy to improve infrastructure in the Global South. In collaboration with solar manufacturers and local operators, TAS aims to provide sustainable energy solutions while fostering economic growth and job creation in underserved regions.

1. To onboard emerging markets to the Web3 sector, infrastructure and electricity is a vital part. This is an opportunity to create infrastructure that will bridge that gap.
2. The renewable energy method will combat the usage of Generator, creating a regenerative source of energy.
3. We are partnering with local communities to create hands on education about climate change and solar installation.
