Swypt is a fiat-crypto infrastructure layer powering real-world stablecoin usage in Africa — enabling individuals and merchants to send, receive, and off-ramp digital dollars directly to local currencies like KES through APIs, SDKs, and mobile-first tools. Built for developers, merchants, and fintechs, Swypt bridges USDT from chains like Lisk, Celo, and soon Avalanche and Scroll, into on-chain and off-chain value flows across East Africa.
Swypt’s mission is to empower individuals and businesses across Africa by unlocking the real-world utility of stablecoins. We’re building infrastructure that connects on-chain assets to off-chain economies — enabling fast, affordable, and compliant access to local currencies, starting with Kenya. By bridging DeFi with everyday financial needs, Swypt aims to make borderless finance accessible to the next billion users.
Millions of individuals and small businesses in Africa struggle with unreliable cross-border payments, limited access to USD liquidity, and high remittance fees. While stablecoins offer a promising alternative, most users lack access to local off-ramps, compliant infrastructure, and merchant acceptance tools — leaving stablecoins disconnected from everyday financial activity.
Swypt bridges stablecoins and real-world utility by providing a compliant, KYC-enabled on/off-ramp platform that allows users to convert USDT on-chain into local currency (e.g. KES) instantly via M-Pesa or bank, and enables merchants to accept stablecoin payments seamlessly. With SDKs, APIs, and local integrations, Swypt makes stablecoins usable for everyday commerce, savings, and business payouts across Africa.
Swypt operates on a transaction-based revenue model. We charge a small fee on each on/off-ramp transaction processed through our platform. Additionally, we partner with merchants and fintech platforms to offer white-labeled API/SDK integrations, creating new revenue streams via SaaS-style pricing and service fees. Our model is scalable across geographies, especially in stablecoin-fiat corridors underserved by traditional payment rails.
