Trusted Data Chain for Smart City Mobility: Blockchain-Enabled Persistent Sensor Data for Smarter Public Transport in Germany.
This project focuses on implementing a blockchain-based platform for the secure persistence of sensor data in Brazil’s urban public transport systems. It ensures end-to-end data integrity via a secure transmission tunnel and decentralized blockchain storage, enabling trusted, transparent, and tamper-proof data that supports improved operational management and policy enforcement.
Cities face critical challenges integrating and managing sustainable, efficient public transportation due to fragmented data systems and inconsistent quality. Cities like Berlin are already advancing smart transport projects with real-time data platforms. Yet, gaps remain in data security, interoperability, and persistence for long-term analytics and public accountability.
The Trusted Data Chain for Smart City Mobility project builds on these foundations by introducing blockchain’s immutable ledger for sensor data gathered from buses, routes and passenger flows.
