EN: The Sasaki Farm, located in São Miguel Arcanjo/SP, belongs to a family of Japanese immigrants from the far north of Japan who arrived in Brazil in 1930 and have lived there since 1950. Until 1990, the family conventionally planted fruits and vegetables. In 2017, after decades without agricultural production, the third generation of the family learned about Agroforestry techniques and felt it could be a possible way to revitalize that ancestral space. The family began to implement small modules of Agroecological Agroforestry Systems to regenerate the site with biodiversity, abundance and cultural recovery. Currently, the site has 1 hectare of Agroforestry Systems and Mandalas of medicinal herbs. In addition to Successional Agroforestry techniques, we apply Soil Health techniques, such as Bokashi, Microorganisms, Biofertilizers and Pfeiffer Chromatography.
Goals for Summer / 2025
- Management of the Agroforestry System #5 (focus on roots and citrus fruits);
- Planting of 500m² of corn and beans for seed multiplication.
PT: O Sítio Sasaki, localizado em São Miguel Arcanjo / SP, é de uma família de imigrantes japoneses, do extremo norte do Japão, que chegou ao Brasil em 1930 e onde vivem desde 1950. Até 1990, a família plantava frutas e vegetais de forma convencional. Em 2017, após décadas sem produção agrícola, a terceira geração da família conheceu as técnicas de Agrofloresta e sentiu que poderia ser uma maneira possível de revitalizar aquele espaço ancestral. A família começou a implementar pequenos módulos de Sistemas Agroflorestais Agroecológicos para regenerar o sítio com biodiversidade, abundância e resgate cultural. Atualmente, o local conta com 1 hectare de cultivo de Sistemas Agroflorestais e Mandalas de ervas medicinais. Além das técnicas de Agrofloresta Sucessional, aplicamos técnicas de Sáude no Solo, como Bokashi, Microorganismos, Biofertilizantes e Cromatografia de Pfeiffer.
Metas para Verão / 2025
- Manejo do SAF 5 (foco em raízes e cítricos)
- Plantio de roça de 500m² de milho e feijão para multiplicação de sementes.
