RegenBuild aims to build the first decentralised, digital protocol to measure, report and validate building performance through all phases of a building’s lifecycle and provide funding access to qualified projects.

Done right, the RegenBuild protocol could potentially serve as the foundation for the AECO industry’s transition to a regenerative paradigm over the 21st century.
Our mission is to align the AECO industry and build public goods to solve coordination problems and accelerate regeneration in the built environment.

The built environment industry is responsible for around 40% of global carbon emissions, 30% of waste generation, and 20% of water consumption. It is imperative that we address the core issues of the industry to affect changes at a planetary scale and this project is an attempt to do that.

The industry is notoriously difficult to coordinate because of the number of stakeholders involved, slow adoption of technology, financial accessibility, and data interoperability issues through all phases of a project’s lifecycle.
Leveraging crypto-economic systems could prove critical in coordinating the stakeholders towards shared goals by incentivising positive outcomes. Building an open workflow and integrating it with existing workflows and products solves data interoperability problems and eases adoption. Connecting to DeFi funding protocols opens up new financial models and enables more projects to become regenerative.

Guru Vishwas - Founder
Guru has over 6 years of experience in the construction industry across various roles with a background in civil engineering and a master’s in construction management and sustainability. He was previously a product and strategy lead at SD+, India’s first platform to help real estate projects become more sustainable.
Una Wang - Research Lead, PhD ETH Zurich
Una is a multifaceted young professional, embodying various roles in her career. She is leading the project no1s1 at ETH Zurich as a PhD candidate. Her research explores topics such as decentralised autonomous buildings, decentralised physical infrastructure, digital twin, IoT and regenerative built environments. Leveraging her background in architecture, she thrives as a builder and maker. She brings ideas to life through cyber-physical integrated prototypes and products.
Collaboration - We believe in the power of composability, building on each other's strengths, and emphasising collaboration over competition.
Collective Intelligence - We value the power of the many over the strength of the few. We believe that when minds come together, the potential for innovation, problem-solving, and growth is boundless.
Diversity & Inclusion - We recognise the potential of diverse perspectives to contribute and seek to advance a paradigm where individual capabilities can be expressed fully in service of collective goals.
Fairness - We pledge to maintain transparency in monitoring the individual contributions made towards RegenBuild. We assure that every contribution, big or small, will be duly recognised, valued and rewarded for its significance.
First Principles - We understand that we are navigating uncharted territories where traditional guidelines may not always apply. Undeterred, we are ready and willing to form our own judgements and carve our own paths.
