Younglings, ixo and RLabs are forming a ReFi Local Node in Cape Town to nurture community conversations around Web3 enabled regenerative-oriented-innovations (ROIs). Our aim is to empower youth to address some of our cities most pressing challenges through hackathons, incubation and investment. These challenges include inequality, youth unemployment, and a general lack of access to resource flows such as energy, water, sanitation, housing and education.

The Younglings are a group of five leaders who have experience in training and skills development in the South African digital sector.

Highly entrepreneurial with a passion for creativity and nature-based solutions. Shawn has a background in food and nutrition security, and has taught a module he created called regneration sciences at various schools across Cape Town. He has previously been part of two Solar Decathlon building competitions and the subsequent construction of two eco-villages in Morocco and Germany. He loves collaborating with others in designing, developing and deploying innovations for systemic transformation in Cape Town and other parts of South Africa.

He is a status-quo challenger in active pursuit of better and more sustainable ways to ensure our species existence in this world.
