Our business model engages primary school students as key participants, integrates blockchain technology for transparency, and generates revenue to support scalability, with the dual aim of environmental impact and fostering a generation committed to combating litter.
**Operational Framework**

**Student-Led Collection:**
We partner with primary schools, beginning with a pilot of 2-3 institutions in 2025, to implement a structured recycling program. Students collect recyclable materials, primarily plastics, during two-month competitive cycles, incentivized by rewards and educational outcomes. We provide schools with necessary equipment (e.g., bins) and operational guidance to ensure effective participation.

**Direct Processing and Management:**
Our team oversees the collection, sorting, and processing of all recyclable materials gathered by participating schools. This hands-on approach ensures quality control and efficiency, enabling us to prepare materials for sale without reliance on intermediaries. Our initial target is to process 200 kg in the 2025 pilot phase.

**Blockchain-Enabled Transparency and Rewards:**
We leverage Web3 technology to enhance accountability and engagement. A decentralized application (Dapp) records each kilogram of waste collected on a blockchain, while a smart contract disburses rewards—ranging from $50 to $200 per cycle—to high-performing schools. A multi-signature panel verifies outcomes, ensuring fairness and trust for all stakeholders.

**Revenue Generation:**
We generate income by selling processed recyclables at market rates of R3-R5 per kilogram, yielding approximately R600-R1,000 from the pilot’s 200 kg. In subsequent phases, we plan to pursue carbon credit certification for waste diverted from landfills, potentially unlocking additional revenue of R50-R100 per ton avoided. These funds sustain operations and growth.

**Reinvestment and Expansion:**
All revenue is reinvested into expanding the program—adding more schools, enhancing equipment, and refining our technology platform. Our short-term goal is to reach 5 schools and 500 kg by September 2025, with a long-term vision of scaling to 100 tons, amplifying our environmental and social impact across South Africa.
