Ohra is a small community ceramic studio founded by Oleg Yasnyi in the Dnipropetrovsk region of Ukraine. The studio creates a safe and creative space for children, veterans, and people affected by war to explore clay art, restore emotional balance, and reconnect with themselves through craftsmanship.
Our mission is to restore emotional strength and resilience in our community through the healing power of clay, creativity, and human connection.
Due to the ongoing war in Ukraine, many children and veterans experience emotional stress, trauma, and psychological instability. Access to affordable therapeutic and creative spaces in small communities is limited.
Additionally, frequent power outages make it difficult to operate ceramic equipment, especially the kiln, which requires stable electricity for several hours.
Ohra Ceramic Studio provides:
Creative clay workshops for children to develop focus, imagination, and emotional resilience.
Therapeutic ceramic sessions for veterans and war-affected individuals to support psychological recovery.
A community-based creative environment that fosters connection and stability.
To ensure uninterrupted work despite blackouts, the project aims to install an inverter generator and later transition to a solar energy system to create an energy-independent studio.
Hybrid social enterprise model. Describe your business model Ohra operates as a social ceramic studio: Paid workshops and ceramic classes for children and adults. Special therapeutic sessions for veterans and war-affected individuals (free or subsidized through grants and donations). Sale of handmade ceramic products. Future plans for educational masterclasses and community events. Revenue from paid activities supports operational costs and allows subsidized or free participation for vulnerable groups.
