What are you going to build?:

Since 2013 starting with Ascribe, the team behind Ocean Protocol has been on a journey to democratize data & IP by creating flexible ways to manage digital assets whilst ensuring data provenance. This led to the creation of Ocean Protocol in 2017 and the deployment of the first contracts in 2018.

As of 2023, Ocean Protocol has successfully developed a robust set of road-tested smart contracts and GDPR-compliant ERC725y templates that enable large organizations and consumer dApps to effectively manage access to substantial data assets - both private & public - for various purposes.

The current applications of Ocean's contracts span a wide range, including the creation of decentralized data marketplaces, decentralized e-commerce sites (for analytics, dashboards, event ticketing and anything that is IP-related) as well as the establishment of shared LLMs to facilitate collaboration within AI communities.

In response to the expressed interest from builders of consumer dApps who seek Ocean's deployment on L2 scaling solution, the team is looking to implement all the developed infrastructure on OP Mainnet. This step will further enhance the accessibility and potential impact of Ocean Protocol and hopefully bring new builders to the OP ecosystem.
