Hey, I'm Mertens a web3 gaming content creator with a passion for exploring and reviewing new games within the web3 ecosystem.

Although I haven’t worked professionally as a Key Opinion Leader, I have independently created content for several gaming projects, such as Fableborne, Alterverse, Game7, Overworld among many others out of sheer enthusiasm and dedication to the space.

To build a thriving community of web3 game enthusiasts on the Sei blockchain by creating engaging content, simplifying entry barriers, and showcasing high-quality games that prioritize enjoyable gameplay and transparency. The goal is to foster a welcoming environment that attracts new players, supports creators, and drives the growth of the Sei gaming ecosystem.

Major Problems

1. Lack of Quality Games and Engagement
   Many web3 games are built around speculation rather than gameplay, leading to a lack of quality, immersive experiences. Players often feel disconnected, and the focus on earning instead of playing results in limited engagement.

2. High Entry Barriers
   Complex onboarding processes, expensive initial investments in NFTs or tokens, and the need for crypto knowledge can deter new players. This prevents wider adoption beyond crypto-native users.

3. Scalability and High Transaction Fees
   Many web3 games face issues with scalability, leading to laggy gameplay and high transaction fees, which disrupt the gaming experience and create frustration.

4. Trust and Security Concerns:
   Scams, rug pulls, and the absence of transparency and security measures in some web3 gaming projects create trust issues, making it hard for players to commit time or money.

5. Lack of Community Building:
   Communities in web3 gaming often lack a strong foundation, leading to fragmentation and disengagement. Without an active and supportive community, games struggle to maintain long-term interest and growth.

Solutions I'm Working On

1. Creating High-Quality, Engaging Content

   • By producing well-researched articles, game reviews, and video guides, I aim to highlight web3 games that prioritize quality gameplay and innovative mechanics. This will help shift the narrative from "play-to-earn" to "play-and-enjoy," attracting players who seek genuine gaming experiences.

2. Educational Content to Lower Entry Barriers

   • I plan to create beginner-friendly content that simplifies onboarding processes, breaks down game mechanics, and offers step-by-step guides. This will make it easier for newcomers to start exploring web3 games without feeling overwhelmed.

3. Community Building and Engagement

   • My focus on building a community of game lovers on the Sei blockchain aims to foster a space where players can share experiences, participate in events, and engage with content that resonates with their interests. This will encourage player retention and active participation.

4. Promoting Trustworthy and Transparent Projects

   • I actively research and support projects that demonstrate transparency, good security practices, and a clear roadmap. By amplifying such projects, I aim to help establish trust in the web3 gaming space, encouraging new players to join.
