Program Purpose

ReFi The Hague operates a local, community-driven funding round to support small regenerative and social-impact projects.

Key Features:

• Combine local co-funding with Localism Fund matching
• Use Ethereum-based tools (Karma GAP, Snapshot, Hats Protocol, Guild, Prosperity Pass, EAS, Gardens, Giveth) for transparent governance, impact tracking, and fundraising
• Allocate less than 25% for fair compensation of non-project expenses (workshops, facilitation, admin, tooling).
• Seed community-proposed projects through workshops, mentorship, and transparent fund distribution
• Provide a replicable and accessible local funding distribution framework. Open for adoption by other nodes or organizations (in additional bioregions).

This program aligns with Viable Community’s five-year mission to preserve and regenerate ecosystems through efficient resource allocation, co-ownership, co-working, knowledge sharing, and the promotion of sustainable practices.

This pilot round is the first of many annual, iterative local funding rounds. Each iteration will incorporate lessons learned to improve governance, community engagement, and regenerative outcomes.
