Launched Project updates :)
We just launched this feature you are seeing right here :) Until now, you could only post updates about your project on a grant you have received. However, projects make progress in general on their project which is unrelated to any specific grant. To share such progress updates,…
Launched donations feature!
Any project on Karma can now enable donations. Simply go to the project profile, setup payout addresses on networks you want to accept donations. When a funder visits your project profile, they will see an option to donate to your project any token on any of the major L2s.
Finalize Protocol Architecture
Finalize the protocol architecture including designing schemas to use EAS, the resolver contracts, the backend infrastructure and frontend integration.
Finalize Requirements
Discuss requirements with stakeholders, interview grantees and finalize the requirements. The requirements should be published in a google doc.
Finish development of Backend and Smart contracts
Complete development and deployment of the backend code and smart contracts of the GAP protocol.
Deploy smart contracts
Deploy all the contracts to production (Optimism Mainnet).
Finish Design and Frontnend implementation
Launch website to interact with the protocol
Onboard teams
Onboard 2 teams and get at least 25 grantees to post updates.
50% of the funds raised - development work
The remaining funds will be used to continue building features for GAP. We plan to build the following features in the next two months: Wallet to wallet notification to remind grantees to post updates Support for other L2 networks (currently only Optimism is supported).
50% of the funds raised - sponsor gas for Gitcoin grantees
Grantees have started using GAP to post updates about their progress. GAP is an onchain protocol and is gasless (i.e, the users don't pay for transaction). We will allocate 50% of the funds raised to continue sponsoring gas for Gitcoin grantees to continue posting updates.
MVP website with read only program data
We will build a basic program registry page that will let anyone browse programs. This will be a barebones website without any bells and whistles like filtering, sorting etc.
Launch fully featured registry with program data
Launch the registry feature with atleast 25 programs listed in the registry. Upon completion of this milestone, anyone will be able to visit the registry page, browse the programs and find all the program details. Program managers will be able to login and add their program detai…
Implement Program manager functionality
Upon completion of this milestone, program manager will be able to login to the website, fill in program details and write to the Allo registry. The program data will be displayed in the registry page to the public.
Aggregate and load program data to registry
Work with analyst to aggregate program data from across the EVM ecosystem and load it into the registry. Come up with a clean process to easily upload program data to the registry. Anyone will be able to view all program info on the website once this milestone is complete.
Gitcoin grantees can airdrop NFT to their donors
Gitcoin grantees should be able to easily airdrop NFTs to their donors as a thank you for donating in the round.
Add support for Arbitrum One and categorize grants for better evaluation
Deploy smart contracts on Arbitrum One, update front and back-end systems for One compatibility. Post-Milestone 1, grantees can create projects and update grants with all data stored on Arbitrum One. In collaboration with Plurality Labs, we will define project categories and upda…
Integration Open Source Observer
We will integrate with Open Source Observer to include their analytics in the GAP application for projects linked to GitHub repositories, offering funders insight into the impact of open source contributions on ecosystem health.
Ability for anyone to evaluate grants
To assess impact, projects must be evaluated using criteria set by those who know them best—the grantees. We will build a feature allowing grantees to specify their evaluation metrics, ensuring transparency as these will be publicly viewable. This information will be on-chain and…
Run 4 workshops once the review platform is launched
Run 4 workshops
Run weekly workshops for 4 weeks to onboard Arbitrum grantees onto GAP. Also, train contributors to evalulate completed grants.
Create figma designs
Build and launch
Build the frontend to allow project owner to add impact data. Frontend will direclty interact with EAS contracts to create attestations of the impact data. Backend will index the data and provide access through APIs.

We are running the 3rd workshop in the series. We are running the 3rd workshop in the series.
Workshop week #2
We ran the grantee and reviewer onboarding workshop with Feems and Plurality Labs team.
We launched GAP to help grantees build reputation and receive more funding for their projects. This protocol is built on EAS (Ethereum Attestation Service). The protocol is currently deployed on Optimism and Arbitrum.
We have 5 communities utilizing GAP. We have around 5k attestations created by hundres of grantees. The communities and funders are getting visibiltiy into projects they are funding. Builders are able to show their work and receive more funding.
