A huge number of flights get delayed or canceled every day, creating stress, anxiety, and both time and financial loss for travelers.
Today, the only option travelers have to protect themselves from delays or cancellations is traditional insurance products. However, these insurance processes are slow and manual—claims can take weeks or even months to be processed and usually require subjective assessments or human verification.
There is currently no trustless, real-time, automated, and user-friendly way for travelers to hedge against or profit from flight delays and cancellations.
If we take a deeper look at available flight data, we can see that the primary cause of most delays and cancellations is weather conditions—something that is often predictable in advance.
JetLagged solves this problem by creating a decentralized prediction market for flight delays and cancellations, allowing users to hedge against or profit from these events in a transparent and automated way.
