IPNI (InterPlanetary Network Indexer) is core content-routing infrastructure that bridges the Filecoin and IPFS ecosystems by indexing and serving fast provider discovery for CIDs via a simple HTTP API. Optimized to ingest billions of CIDs from large data publishers, it enables reliable content discovery for retrieval and gateway workflows that depend on up-to-date routing information. The project is advancing resiliency and sustainability through improved replication, per-provider metering, and a transition toward federated, multi-operator operations to reduce single-entity dependency.
