IPNI (Interplanetary Network Indexer) is open-source core infrastructure for the Filecoin and IPFS ecosystems, providing a scalable content routing layer that maps content identifiers (CIDs) to the storage providers that host them for low-latency retrieval discovery. It ingests signed provider advertisements and serves high-volume lookup traffic for retrieval clients, gateways, and on-ramps, improving reliability and performance across the network. The proposed work advances IPNI’s sustainability by implementing a paid publisher tier with web-speed ingest latency and edge cache invalidation, enabling measurable service guarantees while keeping existing free capabilities intact.
