Interplanetary Network Indexers provide a content routing service (who has any individual piece of data) that links the Filecoin and IPFS ecosystems.

IPNI has been run for the last year as a largely voluntary effort. In late 2023, we received an operational grant from PLFIF for 200,000 USD to migrate from an AWS cloud deployment to a lean bare metal deployment. The team has been able to keep the service running at this reduced capacity in volunteer time through this spring, as the usage patterns have drastically changed.
