The INHABIT land tenure framework and Stewardship NFTs are game-changing initiatives that unite regeneration, biodiversity protection, the Rights of Nature, and Web3 into a new model of stewardship-based conservation and regenerative finance.
Founded in 2020, INHABIT develops legal, economic, and educational tools to protect ecosystems, drive rural social innovation and expand a corridor of biodiversity globally. INHABIT creates social business solutions that engage stakeholders in land use change, biodiversity conservation, and biocultural activation.
INHABIT’s mission is to protect and regenerate the ecosystems that sustain life by transforming how people use, value, and relate to land. We aim to contribute to the conservation and regeneration of biocultural diversity by facilitating the emergence of a global Corridor composed of bio-cultural hubs, —engaging as many participants as possible in this collective mission. Grounded in a new stewardship-based land tenure model and supported by tools such as the Stewardship NFT, INHABIT empowers guardians to ensure long-term regeneration and resilience for future generations.
By leveraging blockchain technology and the token economy, INHABIT enables the development of a regenerative, functional, and fair model of land tenure while introducing an innovative ReFi framework for decentralized finance. This model safeguards ecosystems, sustains regenerative hubs, and facilitates active participation from people across the world.
Due to the degenerative way we farm and manage our lands, we risk irreversibly damaging the systems that sustain human life.
Lasting regeneration cannot be achieved through actions like tree planting or conservation alone. It requires a collective shift toward caring for living systems—mobilizing many to transform how we use, value, and relate to land.
The challenge is that we lack an attractive, scalable way to engage everyone in stewarding and regenerating territories, creating a renewed relationship between people and the land.
INHABIT proposes a Corridor stretching across the planet—a living network of biodiversity islands where the richness of life and ancestral knowledge are preserved.
This Corridor is built through biocultural hubs—key biodiversity hotspots—that are legally protected under the Rights of Nature, restored through long-term ecological programs, and sustained by Stewards who hold blockchain-verified NFTs that grant lifelong rights, responsibilities, and access to the ecological and cultural value of these territories.
The INHABIT land tenure framework and Stewardship NFTs are pioneering tools designed to fund, protect, and sustain biocultural hubs—key biodiversity hotspots where nature and guardians have rights—led by changemakers and supported by a global community of Stewards actively engaged in protecting ecosystems.
Through our Stewardship NFTs, people, organizations, and communities form a direct connection to specific biodiversity hotspots in Colombia and beyond, gaining rights to protect nature and access unique biocultural experiences.
In August 2025 INHABIT launched its first ReFi campaign to finance the creation of a biocultural hub in Colombia.
INHABIT ensures financial sustainability and ecological impact through a 15% capture from token issuance for project implementation, reinvestment of campaign funds into NFT 2.0 for enhanced utility and revenue diversification, and a Stewardship Ambassador Program with on-chain referral commissions (3–5%), creating a scalable and regenerative economic model.
