Histo Bit

Histo Bit is a blockchain-based healthcare data management platform designed to give patients full ownership and control of their medical records. The project addresses the current challenges in healthcare information systems, such as lack of portability, centralized vulnerabilities, and limited patient autonomy.

Histo Bit ensures secure, encrypted storage of sensitive medical data while enabling patients to decide who can access their information, for how long, and under what conditions. Doctors, insurers, and auditors are integrated as key actors, with distinct roles managed through smart contracts that regulate permissions, data storage, and transaction auditing.

The platform combines cryptographic security (Zero Knowledge Proofs, Baby Jubjub, Homomorphic Encryption) with a user-friendly web and mobile interface. This empowers patients to share medical information securely, while also offering them the ability to monetize anonymized profile statistics through encrypted tokens for research, policy-making, and market studies.

The MVP focuses on role-based access control, encrypted data handling, and intuitive navigation, setting the foundation for a robust ecosystem where patients are the true owners of their health data.

This setup leads to issues with portability, security, data breaches, and a heavy dependence on centralized systems that are vulnerable. Additionally, patients lack the freedom to choose who can access their data for medical opinions, while still maintaining confidentiality about their medical conditions.
