GreenPill Phangan

We are a local chapter of the global GreenPill Network, established in 2023 on Koh Phangan island, Thailand. We bring together regen-minded individuals, local NGOs, web3 builders, and community organizers who believe in the power of regenerative economics and decentralized coordination and we deliver to degens the idea that crypto can do better than charts and trading.

How It Began:
We have established a local chapter of GreenPill Network in 2023 and started our activity with onboarding events, called Regen Full Moon, in collaboration with ReFi Phangan. We organized in-person onboarding events and workshops aimed at introducing the local community, NGOs, and individuals to web3 technologies and regenerative finance principles. These events are crucial in building a foundation of knowledge and engagement, fostering a community that is actively involved in sustainable practices. We have held 6 events with morning part - presentations and pitches and evening dance with attempts to implement sustainable environmental principles such as “refill” and “recycle”. In March 2024 we celebrated the Anniversary event together with ReFi Phangan and EcoSynthesisX.

Another important thing to mention is the birth of Decentralized Cleanup initiative at GreenPill Phangan Chapter as registration form with cleanup photo upload and Unlock Protocol certificate for the participation. Then, it has transcended to independent project with the dynamic NFT rewards - DeCleanup Network. Now, GreenPill Phangan have teamed up with local regens to conduct joint cleanups, working alongside the DeCleanup Network. These cleanups are a testament to our shared commitment to environmental stewardship and community engagement, removing significant amounts of waste from the island’s natural environments.

In terms of online activities we have launched Regen Ru channel in Russian, where have translated few impactful works, including a part of “The Greenpilled” and the whole “Mycofi” by Owocki, Ethereum Localism article by Monty Merlin Bryant.

What Do We Do Now:
GreenPill Phangan is now focused on advancing two key initiatives born from our local ecosystem:

• DeCleanup dApp – a decentralized platform rewarding real-world cleanups with on-chain proof and dynamic NFT rewards.
• Regen Bazaar – an impact marketplace connecting regenerative actions with tokenized value and support.

We're currently testing strategies for adoption, community engagement, and messaging on the ground in Koh Phangan-treating the island as a live pilot zone. This includes working directly with local NGOs and grassroots communities to demo these tools, gather feedback, and educate participants on their tokenomics and utility. While Regen Bazaar is already open globally and accepting applications for its first cohort, we’re doubling down on real-life onboarding and product testing locally to ensure it's not just functional, but meaningful and intuitive to those creating impact on the frontlines. Expect more in-person events, live demos, and collaborative campaigns soon, as we continue bridging Web3 and regen action - starting here and expanding worldwide.

• Air Quality Monitoring - Pilot
  The Altruist DePIN system by Robonomics Network represents a new model of community-owned environmental monitoring. Unlike traditional systems that centralize data in government or corporate servers, Altruist ensures data sovereignty, transparency, and resilience through open-source firmware, local encryption, and decentralized storage. By deploying these sensors on Koh Phangan, we are piloting one of Thailand’s first decentralized environmental monitoring networks, giving both residents and tourists real-time access to trusted air quality data while building local capacity for long-term environmental governance.
  These devices measure air quality parameters such as PM2.5, PM10 (dust particles), noise levels, temperature, and humidity, and feed the data into an open, decentralized network. Our plan is to install them at five key locations around the island, creating a real-time air quality map accessible to the public. This initiative is part of our commitment to open data, local environmental awareness, and experimenting with DePIN infrastructure in real-world settings.

• Web3 Adoption for Local Businesses
  We are also experimenting with bringing small, real-world businesses into the Web3 ecosystem. Through tools like Juicebox, local businesses can issue tokens that allow them to raise capital directly from their community and turn customers into true stakeholders. These tokens immediately grant participation rights in governance (via Snapshot or Gardens), enabling token holders to vote on business-related or community matters. We are testing profit-sharing mechanisms where a portion of business revenues can be distributed back to token holders through smart contracts. This creates a new type of community-powered business model: transparent, decentralized, and regenerative.
  By doing so, we are creating experiments in how blockchain can empower small retail businesses to access capital, engage stakeholders, and share value in ways that are normally only available to larger corporations. This is a sandbox for regenerative business innovation, where local businesses and their communities co-own the path forward. Currently two businesses are under mentorship:

Many grassroots communities, NGOs, and regenerative actors lack access to tools, funding mechanisms, and visibility in both the traditional and Web3 worlds. While impactful work is happening on the ground - be it cleanups, education, or environmental action - it often remains undervalued, underfunded, and disconnected from global networks and technological innovation.

GreenPill Phangan is a local chapter of the GreenPill Network, designed as a bridge between regenerative action and Web3 technologies. Through events, onboarding sessions, and collaborations with local changemakers, we provide hands-on pathways for communities to tokenize their impact, coordinate more effectively, and access new forms of value. We test, demo, and iterate real solutions here on Koh Phangan, creating replicable models for other regions.
