FarmBlock is a decentralized application (DApp) on Celo that empowers communities to combat global hunger and drought through sustainable agriculture. By leveraging blockchain technology, FarmBlock enables local farmers to proof they are human with Self Protocol zkProof, create farmsteads (FarmBlocks), mint NFTs tied to real agro-products (e.g., quinoa, millets, goji berries), and trade yields transparently using stablecoins (cUSD, cKES, cEUR, cGHC, CNGN). Our mission is to build a global economy centred on financial inclusion, community governance, and agricultural sustainability.

Local farmers are faced with numerous challenges including lack of access to credit and financing, inadequate resources and poor technology, limited markets for their produce and unfavorable climate conditions like drought.

we are solving these problems by building a sustainable ecosystem that connects local farmers to global lenders, creditors and savings yield oppurtunities. We are using blockchain technology to expand the market share of local farmers, boost cooperation and shared resources amongst farmers, while ensuring food security. We hope to enable the conditions for shared prosperity in our community of farmers and growers of super foods.
