Today, simulations, quotes, and wallet previews may show one outcome, while block inclusion delivers another due to MEV extraction, slippage, market impact, protocol fees, gas costs, and failed transaction waste. Traditional finance has Transaction Cost Analysis under MiFID II, but DeFi has no shared standard for measuring execution quality onchain.
We are building an open-source SDK and public platform that parses Ethereum transactions, decomposes execution gaps by cause, and makes execution quality transparent for users, wallets, protocols, researchers, institutions, and regulators.
The project starts with Uniswap V3 and expands to CoW Swap, 1inch, Aave, Yearn, and Sky across DEX, solver, aggregator, lending, yield, and stablecoin execution.

Ethereum users sign transactions without a reliable way to know what they will actually receive at execution.
Wallets and simulations show an expected outcome before signing, but the final result can change at block inclusion because of MEV, slippage, market impact, protocol fees, gas costs, failed transactions, and changing liquidity conditions. This means a transaction can be valid, signed, and successfully executed while still being economically bad for the user.
Today, DeFi has no shared standard for measuring this gap. We cannot systematically answer: what did the user expect, what did they receive, how much value was lost, and why?
This lack of execution-quality measurement hurts users, wallets, protocols, and institutions. Traditional finance already measures execution quality through Transaction Cost Analysis. If Ethereum wants to support RWA, treasury operations, institutional capital, and AI-agent-driven finance, DeFi needs an open, neutral, onchain-native way to measure execution quality.
Execution Gap Observatory will build an open-source SDK and public dashboard for measuring Ethereum transaction execution quality.
The SDK will parse onchain transaction events and calculate what users received versus what was expected. The gap will be decomposed into categories such as MEV extraction, slippage beyond stated minimum, market impact, protocol fees, gas cost, and failed transaction waste.
Each protocol integration will include a public methodology validation process with the protocol team and community, ensuring the decomposition formulas are accurate, transparent, and reproducible.
We will start with Uniswap V3, then expand to CoW Swap, 1inch, Aave, Yearn, and Sky. At sufficient funding, we will host a live public dashboard showing execution gaps, worst outcomes, positive outcomes, MEV-flagged transactions, and protocol-level execution-quality data.
IntentGuard serves as implementation evidence that this research can lead to practical protection mechanisms, while the Observatory remains a public-good measurement layer for Ethereum.
