Ebook Marketplace is a decentralized Farcaster Mini App that enables users to buy and sell PDF ebooks using stablecoins (USDC on Base, cUSD on Celo). Built with Next.js 14, it features wallet authentication via Reown AppKit, on-chain purchase verification through smart contracts, and global ebook storage via Supabase.
To empower digital content creators with a censorship-resistant, low-fee marketplace that leverages blockchain technology to facilitate direct creator-to-reader transactions, ensuring fair compensation for authors and verifiable ownership for buyers.
The Project solves two major issue :
Creator Payment Friction - Traditional ebook platforms take 30-70% cuts and have delayed payouts. This marketplace uses smart contracts to instantly pay sellers directly in stablecoins with only a minimal platform fee (2.5%), giving creators more control and faster access to their earnings.
Censorship & Deplatforming Risk - Centralized platforms can remove content or ban sellers arbitrarily. By storing purchase records on-chain and allowing any wallet holder to sell, creators maintain ownership and aren't dependent on a single platform's policies.
Ebook Marketplace provides a decentralized peer-to-peer platform where creators can list and sell PDF ebooks directly to buyers using stablecoins, with purchases verified on-chain via smart contracts deployed on Base and Celo. The solution eliminates intermediaries by enabling instant, trustless payments—sellers receive 97.5% of each sale directly to their wallet, while purchase records are immutably stored on the blockchain, ensuring buyers always have proof of ownership.
Business Model Revenue Stream: 2.5% platform fee on every paid ebook sale How it works: Sellers list ebooks and set their own prices Buyers pay in stablecoins (USDC/cUSD) Smart contract automatically splits payment: 97.5% to seller, 2.5% to platform Value Proposition: For sellers: Low fees, instant payouts, no middlemen For buyers: Direct creator support, on-chain proof of purchase
