DeCleanup Network

DeCleanup Network is an open-source, multichain public infrastructure for coordinating, verifying, and aggregating real-world environmental cleanup actions.

Across the world, individuals and local communities regularly organize cleanups of beaches, rivers, forests, streets, and public spaces. Despite the scale of this activity, most cleanup work remains fragmented, difficult to verify, and hard to track over time. DeCleanup Network addresses this gap by providing shared digital tools that transform cleanup actions into verifiable, persistent, and composable onchain impact records.

The network enables participants to document cleanup events using a simple web interface or a Farcaster Mini App. Users submit before-and-after photos along with timestamps and location data as Proof of Impact. Submissions are reviewed through a community-based verification process, ensuring transparency and accountability while remaining accessible to grassroots participants.

Once verified, each cleanup contributes to a user’s Impact Product - a dynamic, digital asset that represents their environmental contribution over time. Impact Products evolve as more cleanups are completed, reflecting cumulative activity and long-term participation rather than one-off events.

Multichain Architecture

DeCleanup Network operates across two blockchain ecosystems, each designed for a specific role within the system:

• Base serves as the fast action and onboarding layer. It supports lightweight logging, social participation, and rapid rewards through a Farcaster Mini App and web mini app.
• Celo powers the long-term impact and coordination layer, including advanced analytics, reputation systems, governance mechanisms, and Hypercert integration.

Aggregated Impact & Hypercerts

Every set of ten verified cleanups produces a Hypercert, capturing aggregated environmental impact such as area cleaned, waste removed, contributors involved, and timeframes. These Hypercerts provide standardized, portable records of sustained environmental work that can be reused for reporting, research, governance, and ecosystem coordination.

Incentives & Governance

DeCleanup Network includes a token-based incentive and verification system:

• An action token on Base supports participation, referrals, and verifier access.
• A non-tradable governance and reputation token on Celo is used for long-term coordination, milestone recognition, and community governance.

The system is designed to discourage speculation and prioritize credibility, accountability, and meaningful environmental impact.

Open Public Infrastructure

The project is developed as a public good with open-source code, transparent processes, and community-driven governance. DeCleanup collaborates with ReFi communities, student groups, NGOs, and environmental organizations to create a shared global infrastructure for environmental cleanup action.

3. Community Verification - Decentralized validation through staked verifiers ensures scalability and legitimacy.
4. Hypercerts Integration - Every 10 verified cleanups generates a permanent blockchain certificate (ERC-1155) aggregating cumulative impact data, portable across Web3 ecosystems.
5. Global Network of Coordinated Action - through our ambassador program, partner communities, and decentralized tech, we connect local cleanup efforts into one shared ecosystem - aligned, visible, and scalable across borders.
