Debox is a decentralized, end-to-end encrypted drive for storing, syncing, and sharing data.
It gives users a familiar file-system experience - files, folders, sync, sharing, and a mounted drive - without relying on central servers, user accounts, tracking, or vendor lock-in.
Debox is built for people and teams who want to keep ownership and control of their data while continuing to work through their operating system, desktop applications, and existing project folders.
Debox's mission is to make decentralized storage feel as familiar and usable as a normal drive.
We believe users should be able to store, sync, and share their data without giving up privacy, ownership, or control to centralized platforms.
Our goal is to make decentralized and Filecoin-backed storage useful for real users and teams, not only developers or infrastructure operators.
Decentralized storage is powerful, but it still often feels like infrastructure rather than a product people can use in their normal workflow.
Most users and teams work with files through folders, mounted drives, desktop applications, and shared project spaces. Today, using decentralized storage usually requires a separate upload flow, storage portal, developer API, or manual process outside the way people already work.
Centralized cloud drives solve usability, but introduce different trade-offs: provider accounts, centralized infrastructure, opaque storage policies, metadata exposure, and vendor lock-in.
Debox brings decentralized storage into a familiar mounted-drive workflow.
Users can work with files and folders through their operating system and existing desktop applications, while Debox handles encrypted storage, syncing, sharing, access control, and file versions in the background.
Instead of asking users to upload data through a separate portal or developer API, Debox keeps the normal file workflow: users create project folders, share them, manage access, and intentionally save important file versions.
Debox can also make Filecoin-backed storage available inside this workflow. Users can choose which files, folders, or file versions should receive an additional encrypted durable copy, see storage status, and restore from Filecoin-backed storage when needed.
