<p><a href="https://dctrl.wtf" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">DCTRL</a> (pronounced Decentral or D-Control) is a clubhouse, makerspace, hackerspace, events and co-working space in Vancouver, BC, Canada. Founded in 2014, DCTRL has grown to create an IRL decentralized community commons. With over 10 years of history, DCTRL has hosted hundreds of meetups in the past and continues hosting events to this day. It has a has a rich history, and features a Crypto museum with relics on display such as old ASIC’s, Bitcoin and Crypto memorabilia, hyper-inflationary currencies, and stickers galore.</p><p><br></p><p>The space is <strong>run on donations and volunteers</strong>. Despite the challenging period during the pandemic lock-downs, we are now back on track to fully utilizing the space with several weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, and annual events. All public events are free or donation based. </p><p><br></p><p>Currently, one of our main weekly events open to the public is the <a href="https://x.com/EthVancouver" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Ethereum Vancouver</a> Meetup (Thursday nights) where we have speakers present various topics regarding Ethereum, Web3 and current events related to the crypto ecosystem. There are also Open Mic Poetry nights on Mondays, ‘Learn to DJ’ events and movie nights on Fridays, NFT meetups, ZK groups, bi-weekly music events, Bitcoin-centric events including the 2024 Halvening event, annual Jan 3rd Birthday celebrations, Bitcoin pizza day, and lightning node workshops. </p><p><br></p><p>Most of our educational presentations are live streamed and archived on X, YouTube, and Twitch, so anyone around the world can benefit from our meetups, and helping have a larger impact.
