The project at DCarbon involves integrating Internet of Things (IoT) technology with blockchain to address environmental challenges, we are currently working on two initiatives: ### Initiatives: #### 1. **Biogas to Energy** - **Objective:** Transform biogas generated from organic waste into clean energy. - **Impact:** Reduces greenhouse gas emissions (mainly methane) and generates renewable energy. #### 2. **Clean Cookstove Gasifier** - **Objective:** Develop advanced cookstoves that employ gasification technology for more efficient biomass burning. - **Impact:** These stoves decrease harmful smoke emissions, improving health conditions for farmers and significantly reducing environmental pollution. ### Technologies and Strategies: - **IoT Devices:** Designed as tamper-proof black boxes to ensure data integrity, these devices collect and securely transmit environmental data to blockchain networks. - **Blockchain Integration:** Utilizes data from IoT devices to execute smart contracts that issue CARBON credit tokens, ensuring transparent, secure, and verifiable tracking of carbon offset activities. - **Tokenomics:** The project employs a tokenomics model to encourage participation, allowing individuals and organizations to earn CARBON credits by contributing to carbon offsetting efforts. These credits can be traded or used for regulatory or voluntary offset purposes. ### Goals and Outcomes: - **Transparency and Security:** By using blockchain technology, the project guarantees that all data and transactions are transparent and secure from tampering. - **Incentivization:** CARBON credit tokens provide a financial incentive for individuals and organizations to engage in and support environmental initiatives. - **Scalability and Adaptability:** The adoption of standard IoT devices and blockchain technology facilitates the scaling and adaptation of the project to various environmental endeavors and locations.
