The Crypto Commons Association (CCA) was created as an organizing body for the regular Crypto Commons Gathering (CCG) events held in Austria each year. Our mission is to actively promote the development of digital common goods and infrastructure in distributed ledger technology, their academic reception and analysis, and their broad social application.
In addition to organizing CCG as a week-long, fully unconference style event where the agenda is set each day by attendees; CCA supports a number of working groups and initiatives tied to themes connected to our broader mission and vision. These include efforts such as research groups, related events, and initiatives that mature into networks and tools alike.
Our mission is to actively promote the development of digital common goods and infrastructure in distributed ledger technology, their academic reception and analysis, and their broad social application.
People who are interested in using crypto as a toolkit and platform for cooperative and commons-based applications often find themselves on the margins in a space which has become dominated by big money and other interests.
We provide a community and an event experience which is in many ways the opposite of the large scale event scene; where attendees are free to hold space on topics that matter most to them, held in an off the beaten path locale close to nature, and where commoning is learned experientially in addition to being explored intellectually.
