Crafty Canines holds the distinction of being the first mint on the EVM side of SEI. Kryme, driven by the release of Lighthouse v2, swiftly took action to ensure this achievement. Diving into the WeBump dev chat, he sought assistance for deploying the contract. Opting for a free mint, he set the royalties at 10%. However, this decision caused delays due to a bug in Lighthouse v2, which couldn't handle royalties above 10%. After overcoming this hurdle, the collection was released.
With no prior social media presence or strategic plan, Kryme whitelisted 10,000 addresses from top collections and started promoting Crafty Canines in the S3 Discord and on his personal Twitter. Within 24 hours, 420 Crafty Canines were born. Despite this success, bugs persisted. The EVM side did not pick up these mints, prompting the need for a new contract. With help from Davy and Nat from Pallet, the new contract was deployed, and all holders received their Crafty Canines via an airdrop.
Next, Kryme focused on the artwork. He searched the S3 Discord and enlisted the help of Tosh. Together, they developed traits to honor the top SEI v1 collections, along with 13 unique 1-of-1 pieces celebrating special projects and people within the ecosystem.
Kryme's initial project, Seifari Explorers, provided a pre-mint rarity tool for numerous early 2024 mints. However, due to time constraints, he couldn't sustain a paid project and decided to step away from Seifari. Now, he's back to bring good vibes and innovation with the OG EVM collection on SEI.
Crafty Canines not only marks a technical milestone but also represents Kryme's dedication to the SEI ecosystem, combining creative vision with community collaboration to create a unique and celebrated NFT collection.
