On October 22nd from 6-8 PM at Trebol Café in Santiago, Chile, we hosted an accessible onboarding event that merges coffee culture with decentralized finance. The first 50 attendees who create a ChatterPay wallet received a complimentary coffee, removing barriers to entry and creating a relaxed atmosphere for crypto education.
The objective was to introduce stablecoins and self-custody concepts in a simple, accessible way, showing how anyone can create and use a wallet directly from WhatsApp — without apps, browser extensions, or technical knowledge.
In Latin America, millions still lack access to easy, low-cost digital financial tools. Using crypto and stablecoins remains complex for most users due to technical barriers, lack of education, and the need for wallets, extensions, or seed phrases that feel unsafe or confusing.
ChatterPay simplifies blockchain access by integrating wallets directly into WhatsApp. During the event, attendees created wallets, learned how to use stablecoins for payments, and understood the basics of self-custody — all in an intuitive, familiar environment. This practical approach, supported by Scroll’s Community Grant Program, proved that blockchain tools can be both secure and simple for everyday users.
