ChamaVault brings Africa's centuries-old rotating savings tradition (Chama, Susu, Tontine) on-chain. By leveraging Celo's fast infrastructure and cUSD stablecoins, we enable trustless, transparent, and globally accessible savings circles directly within the MiniPay wallet.
Our mission is to digitize and protect informal community finance using Web3 technology. By replacing human trust with cryptographic guarantees, ChamaVault aims to make rotating savings circles safer, more transparent, and accessible to millions of unbanked users through mobile-first platforms like Celo and MiniPay.
Traditional rotating savings circles are a financial lifeline for millions across emerging markets, but they rely entirely on immense interpersonal trust. A designated treasurer must hold the pooled funds, which frequently leads to delayed payouts, funds mismanagement, or outright theft. Furthermore, because these transactions happen in cash or informal ledgers, members cannot build verifiable, portable financial reputations from their positive savings habits, keeping them excluded from broader financial services.
ChamaVault replaces the trusted human treasurer with an immutable smart contract on the Celo blockchain. Users can create or join savings circles with predefined contribution amounts and frequencies. Members contribute using cUSD, protecting their savings from local currency volatility. When a round concludes, the smart contract automatically routes the exact payout to the designated recipient instantly. There are no middlemen, no delays, and no broken promises. Additionally, by executing these actions on-chain, every user builds an immutable "Trust Score" based on their contribution reliability, creating a portable Web3 financial identity.
ChamaVault employs a multi-tiered monetization strategy designed to align with user success without creating friction: Yield Generation: By integrating with Celo/Mento stablecoin yield protocols, the platform can capture a small percentage of the yield generated by the pooled cUSD while it sits in the vault between rotation payouts. Premium Vault Tiers (ChamaMiner): Users can pay a one-time upgrade fee in cUSD to access "PRO" tiers, which unlocks advanced analytics, higher reputation multipliers, and custom staking tokens (CHMT) as rewards. Enterprise/B2B APIs: In the future, we plan to charge a small SaaS fee to local community leaders or cooperatives who want to white-label the smart contract architecture to manage massive, multi-tiered savings groups.
