Celo 2048 is a decentralized version of the famous puzzle game 2048, built with React and integrated with the Celo blockchain. Players connect their wallet, play the game, and save their scores directly on-chain. It features a leaderboard, timer, replay mode, and one-time score saving per game.
Our mission is to expand Celo 2048 into a full-featured Web3 gaming experience. Next steps include adding mini-games like “Time Attack” where players have 1 minute to score as high as possible, introducing larger 2048 grids for more challenging gameplay, and optimizing the game for mobile devices. We also plan to explore integration into mini-apps like Farcaster, making it easier for the community to play and share scores directly from social platforms.
Most blockchain games are either too complicated, too expensive to play, or just not fun for casual users. On Celo specifically, there aren’t really any versions of 2048, even though it’s a simple and addictive game that’s perfect to show off how easy Web3 gaming can be.
Celo 2048 brings a familiar game to the Celo ecosystem with seamless wallet connection, automatic network switching, and cheap transactions. It’s one of the first 2048 games on Celo, filling that gap while proving that blockchain gaming doesn’t always need to be complex – it can be lightweight, fun, and accessible to anyone.
