The Cartographer Syndicate 13, part of MetaGov’s Grant Innovation Lab, is a collective dedicated to advancing the Web3 grants ecosystem through innovative curation, aggregation, and funding approaches within the Arbitrum community. Through this grant from Thank ARB, we intend to:

• Develop the Onchain Grant Aggregator 10 on Arbitrum with Gitcoin, Karma, and OpenSource Observer.
• Aggregate news and current events related to Web3 Grants via Crypto Grant Wire 1
• Experiment with novel funding mechanisms and incentivize contributions.

Build a Comprehensive Web3 Grant Program Registry

• Partnering with Karma to build and maintain an easily accessible on-chain registry for all grant programs within the Web3 ecosystem
• Exploration of building systems of transparency and accountability across grant programs
• Integrating data analytics and visualization tools within the registry
• Building a system aggregating news and current events across the Web3 grants landscape

A Grant Program for Grant Programs

• Create a “grant program for grant programs,” allowing experimentation and utilizing novel funding mechanisms
• Managing the implementation of direct grants, contributor incentives, and novel funding mechanisms

Incentivize Community Contributions

• Identifying new projects, updating existing project information, and ensuring accuracy

The Web3 grants ecosystem lacks a centralized hub for information, curation, and funding coordination. This fragmentation makes it difficult for projects to find suitable grants, for grant programs to reach potential applicants, and for the community to track and analyze the impact of various initiatives across the ecosystem.

The Cartographer Syndicate aims to solve this problem by developing a comprehensive Web3 Grant Program Registry on Arbitrum. This registry will aggregate grant information, integrate data analytics tools, and implement novel funding mechanisms. By partnering with established platforms like Gitcoin and Karma and by incentivizing community contributions, the Syndicate seeks to create a central hub for the Web3 grants community. This solution will provide better visibility, accessibility, and coordination for grant programs, applicants, and the broader Web3 ecosystem.
