Campus On Chain is a project created by students of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (QS Ranking) that since 2022 has periodically organized talks, meetups and workshops aimed at teaching university students about blockchain technology. Its goal is to introduce them to the ecosystem and encourage them to start their own projects.
The organization operates as a university "Blockchain Club" that expanded beyond its university of origin. To date between talks meetups workshops and hackathons more than fifty in‑person events have been organized across multiple universities.
Our objective is to help Chile develop a large dynamic ecosystem full of opportunities. To achieve this we work from inside universities sharing key knowledge that will allow future CTOs and CEOs of the country to lead high‑impact startups.
Our mission is to grow the Chilean ecosystem until it becomes an international reference.
Universities in Chile have strong talent but lack programs that teach blockchain in a meaningful way. Due to the small size of the local community a student interested in technology or industry depends on a few isolated events without continuity or community. This gap leaves young people with real interest isolated and disconnected losing the experience of a community and the opportunities that communities bring.
Campus On Chain organizes talks, meetups and workshops that connect students with professionals and projects from the local ecosystem. Activities are open and free for the community with a focus on creating value and opportunities for students. As more people participate the local community grows creating network effects that make it more dynamic and interesting.
