BrightID is an alternative to nation-state and biometric identities that allows anyone in the world to access public goods fairly as a unique individual by connecting to people they already know in an anonymous social graph.

BrightID is built for privacy. No personal information or biometrics are stored on servers, blockchains or registries. It doesn’t share personal information (even the BrightID identifier itself) with applications–only anonymous verifications.

BrightID enables universal dividends, digital democratic voting, social media without bots, sharing anything equitably, improved polling, ratings, and reviews.

Contributions will enable the core team to integrate the new decentralized Aura verification protocol, “known-identifier” protocol, Ethereum attestations, and a tool for anonymously finding which friends are using BrightID–all to grow BrightID and make the path to verification easier.
