Who We Are

Blockchain University of Port Harcourt is a campus-based club dedicated to bridging the knowledge gap between students and blockchain technology.

We aim to educate the student community about cryptocurrencies and blockchain, empowering them with the skills to navigate and contribute to the evolving digital economy.

By organizing events, workshops, and mentorship programs, we have raised awareness and understanding of blockchain technology among students, fostering a knowledgeable community. ​

Our Contributions To The Web3 Ecosystem

1. Education and Training: We have hosted and co-hosted multiple Twitter Spaces and webinars, introducing students to various Web3 and Blockchain projects and ecosystems.

Our community of around 2000 members provides opportunities for learning and earning for both tech and non-tech enthusiasts.

2. Skill Development: Through hands-on projects, participating in hackathons, and mentorship programs, we have equipped participants with technical skills like web3 marketing, UI/UX design, technical writing, smart contract development, etc.

3. Community Building: We have hosted one of the largest blockchain-themed events in Port Harcourt, Nigeria.

Why We Need a Grant

At Blockchain Uniport, our mission is to bridge the knowledge gap between students and blockchain technology.

With this grant, we can elevate our impact, empower more students, and contribute more significantly to the growth and development of the Web3 ecosystem. It would help us:

1. Scale Educational Programs: With additional funding, we can host larger workshops, advanced training sessions, and more comprehensive mentorship programs, accommodating a broader range of students, including those from non-technical backgrounds.

2. Enhance Community Building: Organizing more impactful events, such as conferences, meetups and hackathons, will foster deeper community connections and provide networking opportunities with industry leaders.

3. Support Student Projects: A grant would allow us to provide resources, incentives, and funding for student-led blockchain projects, encouraging creativity and innovation within the Web3 ecosystem.

4. Increase Accessibility: We want to make blockchain education accessible to more students, including those from underrepresented backgrounds, by covering registration fees for events, offering scholarships, and providing online resources.
