Blockchain LAUTECH is a student-led blockchain community at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), dedicated to training and onboarding students into the world of blockchain technology. Our focus spans crypto education, blockchain development, web development, and participation in hackathons. We collaborate with leading projects to organize both virtual and in-real-life (IRL) events that enrich our members’ knowledge and prepare them for active participation in the blockchain

Our mission is simple;

1. Education and Training: Provide structured training sessions on blockchain technology, cryptocurrency, and decentralized application (dApp) development.

2. Community Building: Foster a supportive community of students passionate about blockchain, encouraging networking, knowledge-sharing, and collaboration.

3. Skill Development: Equip members with the technical skills to participate in hackathons, build on blockchain networks, and create innovative solutions.

4. Industry Exposure: Collaborate with established blockchain projects and organizations to provide mentorship, internship opportunities, and exposure to real-world applications.

Here's what impact looks like for us;

• Skill Empowerment: Training students to develop blockchain solutions, boosting their technical expertise and employability. We have trained over 1000 students in this regard from 2020 to date.
• Community Growth: Expanding the community to create a larger network of young blockchain enthusiasts across Nigeria and beyond.
• Innovation: Inspiring students to explore blockchain's potential for societal impact, especially within Africa.
• Ecosystem Development: Contributing to the growth of the global blockchain ecosystem by nurturing young talents.

Many students have limited access to hands-on blockchain training and lack awareness of the career and innovation opportunities within the space. The technical complexity and perceived exclusivity of blockchain technology create barriers, preventing potential talents from exploring and contributing to this fast-evolving industry.

We are bridging the educational gap by doing the following;

1. Workshops and Webinars: Regular online and IRL training sessions on blockchain fundamentals, crypto trading, smart contract development, and Web3.

2. Hackathons: Participation in global and regional hackathons to encourage creativity and practical application of acquired skills.

3. Collaborations: Partnering with projects like Algorand Foundation to host developer workshops and provide valuable resources.

4. Knowledge Sharing: Organizing meetups, panel discussions, and AMA (Ask Me Anything) sessions to keep members updated on industry trends.

5. Mentorship and Networking: Connecting members with blockchain professionals and enthusiasts for mentorship and networking opportunities.
