The Scroll Community Support Program – Blockchain 101 Bootcamp was held on 29th November 2025 at Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, hosted by APU Blockchain & Cryptocurrency Club. The event gathered 98 attendees, of which around 90% were beginners, and focused on introducing blockchain fundamentals, Scroll’s Layer 2 technology, and hands-on smart contract development, followed by project ideation and an Ideathon.
The mission of the program was to educate and onboard new users and developers into the Scroll and broader Web3 ecosystem. It aimed to bridge the knowledge gap between beginner-level understanding and real-world blockchain application development, while inspiring innovation in emerging areas such as AI agents, DeFi, and Real-World Assets (RWA). At the same time, it sought to strengthen the local Web3 community in Malaysia, especially at the university level.
Many students and beginners have limited access to structured blockchain education and lack hands-on exposure to real tools and platforms. There is also relatively low awareness of Layer 2 solutions like Scroll and their importance in solving scalability and cost issues on Ethereum. Additionally, aspiring Web3 builders often do not have enough opportunities to collaborate, test ideas, or present real-world solutions in a supportive environment.
To address these challenges, the program delivered beginner-friendly sessions on blockchain and Ethereum, followed by an introduction to Scroll’s Layer 2 and zero-knowledge technology. Three hands-on smart contract workshops were conducted to give participants real coding experience. Participants then moved into project ideation and pitching, generating 10 innovative ideas focused on AI, DeFi, and RWA. More than 50% of attendees interacted directly with SynthOS, demonstrating strong engagement with the Scroll ecosystem and validating the effectiveness of a learn-by-building approach.
