Bhutan has over 50% of the population engaged in agriculture and over 20% of the GDP comes from this sector. We are well known for high quality products but are not currently using the latest technologies. We want to bring Bhutan’s agricultural sector into the future primarily through first focusing on soil technologies and greenhouse automations.
Our mission is to bring Bhutan’s agricultural practices to the 21st century and go beyond to become a regional leader in the area. We want to promote technological integrations/inventions that support sustainable agriculture. We strive to work closely with stakeholders and ensure that adoption is as seamless as possible.
Soil analysis is currently heavily bottlenecked and takes over a month to receive results, at which point the window for making decisions on planting and fertilizations has passed, often rendering the analyses’ impact greatly reduced.
We have implemented a rapid soil sensing system with remote data logging and applications. Additionally, we have digitized the operations of the National Soil Service Center, streamlining processes and unlocking new integrations. We are planning to continue our smart sensing developments to secure use-cases throughout the country, continue to drive costs down, and accuracy up.
Seed through grants, transfer from profits on our other projects, and outside investments, and ultimately a conversion to sustainable profit-making company.
