This project was enabled by my personal contributions of pushing Arbitrums DAO presence in Europe and was made possible by a community of enthusiasts.
We have managed to sponsor Ethereum Bucharest via a QF round and where we had a booth, hosted a hackathon, etc, and be present at a side event organized by Fiat24 at Ethereum Zurich. Both the events have had over 1500 attendees.
Accomplishments:
1.Arbitrum DAO at Eth Bucharest, over 300 people came by the booth, we also made a follow up telegram channel: https://t.me/ArbitrumDaoinRomania
2.Arbitrum DAO representation at Eth Zurich and Fiat24 Eth Zurich Side event focused on Arbitrum (over 200 attendees from a diverse professional audience: banking, tradfi, defi, web3, etc). More details here: https://cryptoevents.global/swiss-crypto-collective-accelerating-ethereum-with-arbitrum/
3.3 projects that won the hackathon at Eth Bucharest later participated in the GG20 Hackathon Alumni Round and got involved in the DAO.
Future Goals:
Create a more transparent(and practical) process to fund ETH events in Europe
Act as a coordination function between Arbitrum DAO and European events, hackathons, etc ensuring interests are aligned
2.Ensuring we have Arbitrum DAO representation at the events we sponsor ( at the booth and judges in the during the hackathons)
Help foster long term partnerships with organizations, hackers and universities in European cities
Find better ways of catalyzing/activating the Arbitrum DAO european community
At the moment event organizers are chaotically applying in different grant programs which is amazing, but also creates a level of uncertainty when it comes who will be representing Arbitrum at those events, who ensures alignment, who is actually auditing these events to see if the growth is real! .
We want to create a more transparent and legitimate process for sponsoring Arbitrum European events with the hope that the model will be adopted by other continents/countries.
