However, most implementations rely on direct private key access, which creates several risks:

• Unrestricted access to funds
• Lack of transaction controls
• No spending limits
• No auditability

AgentGuard introduces a middleware layer between agents and the blockchain that enforces programmable rules before any transaction is executed.

Instead of signing transactions directly, agents submit requests to AgentGuard. The system then evaluates the request through a permission engine that verifies:

• Whether the action is allowed
• Whether the spending amount is within limits
• Whether the contract or token is approved
• Whether human approval is required

If the transaction satisfies all rules, AgentGuard executes the transaction securely on the Celo network.
